Unlike
developing vocal technique and a repertoire list, putting together
a professional “package” in order to present your best self at auditions
and performances does not require years of study and preparation.
All it takes is some instruction and practice to acquire that “wow
factor” – something that will make you stand out as a serious artist
in both sight and sound.
I
have had over 30 years experience as a professional singer and voice
teacher. Since moving to New Hampshire in 1999 and opening my voice
studio in Manchester, I have seen the need for professional level
training for singers at various stages of their development – training
outside the realm of vocal technique and repertoire. Specifically:
unlocking the communicative artist within
intensive diction coaching in French, German and Italian
thorough and detailed repertoire coaching with experienced coaches
successful audition techniques
how to “jump start” a career by becoming savvy about the business
of
singing
wardrobe, hair and makeup strategies to help a singer find the
right
professional

My
connections to voice professionals throughout the U.S. enable me
to line up some stellar names to visit New Hampshire and work with
the talented singers in this area.
These
workshops will begin in late May of 2007 and continue throughout
the summer according to interest and enrollment. The venue is 83
Hanover Street, Manchester, and all workshops are scheduled for
Saturday afternoons.
SPRING 2008 WORKSHOPS
Mozart’s The Magic Flute was presented on March 8, 2008, at Philharmonic Hall on Hanover Street in Manchester, NH. Here is the cast: Michael Belle (Tamino), Emily Jaworski (Pamina), Maxwell McGrath (Papageno), Janet Boutin (Queen of the Night), Rebecca Pulito (First Lady), Joelyn Foster (Second Lady), Anna Maria Dwyer (Third Lady), Matt vanWagner (Monostatos), Meegan Gagnon (Papagena), and Mark Andrew Cleveland (Sarastro and narrator). Kathryn Southworth was the wonderful accompanist, and sound effects were provided by Anna Maria Dwyer. Other students participating as the Dragon (the “monster who chases Tamino) and Extra Chorus were: Melany White (Dragon), Susan Craft, Janet Wittenberg, Jennifer Gaines and John Gibson. The masks were purchased during my vacation to Venice last fall, and are original works of art created by artists of the Veneto region. The decorations – feather, sequins, trimming – were all applied by the singers to capture the “personality” of their characters.
